Barclays statement PDF → Excel or CSV
Barclays statements show Money out, Money in and Balance columns, print the date only once per day ("3 Sep"), and put a reference line such as "Ref: 0123456789" under many descriptions. CleanStatement keeps the reference with its payment, fills in the missing dates and checks the balance.
- Runs in your browser: the statement is never uploaded
- Running-balance check flags any row that doesn't add up
- Free for 3 statements a day, no sign-up
Your PDF is converted in this browser tab and never uploaded.
What a Barclays statement looks like
Barclays statements usually have these columns. The converter maps them to Date, Description, Money out, Money in, Amount and Balance.
- Date ("3 Sep", printed once per day)
- Description (with a second "Ref:" line for many payments)
- Money out £
- Money in £
- Balance £
What CleanStatement handles for you
- Dates carry down to every transaction on that day.
- "Ref:" lines are joined onto their payment, so the reference stays with the right transaction.
- Start balance and End balance lines feed the balance check and are not exported.
- The year is taken from the statement period at the top of the page.
Every release is tested against a synthetic Barclays-style statement that copies this layout with made-up data. Real statements vary by account type and year. If yours doesn't convert cleanly, Pro users get priority fixes for their layout.

Barclays statement conversion FAQ
Can I import the CSV into Xero or QuickBooks?
Yes. The CSV has Date, Description, Money out, Money in, Amount and Balance columns in UTF-8, which both accept with a quick column mapping.
Does it work with Barclaycard statements?
Card statements without a balance column convert too; there is just no running balance to check against, so compare totals with the statement summary.
Is my statement uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is opened and converted inside your browser. Only the converter code (and, for scanned pages, the OCR engine) is downloaded to your device. Your document is never sent to us.
What does the free plan include?
3 statements per day, up to 5 pages each, with Excel and CSV export and the balance check. Pro ($9/month or $59/year) removes the limits, adds batch conversion into one merged sheet and Chinese OCR.
Converting statements every month?
Pro is $9/month or $59/year: unlimited statements and pages, batch conversion into one merged sheet, and Chinese OCR for scanned statements.
